Shrimp Gyoza

PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS

CLASSIC PAN-FRY:
Preheat a medium sized pan on medium-high heat and add 3 tbs. cooking oil. Then spread the frozen Gyozas out on the pan, flat side down, and sear for 1-2 minutes. Add 1/2 cup of water or broth to the pan, turn down the heat to medium-low and cover the pan. Cook for roughly 5 minutes or until the liquid has evaporated. Finally, remove the lid and cook for another minute. Remove and serve.

BOILING:
Using high heat, bring a pot of water to a boil. Once at a boil, gently place the frozen Gyozas in the pot. Then lower the heat to a medium-high. Stir the Gyozas periodically. Continue for roughly five minutes or until the Gyozas begin floating to the top of the water. Remove from water and serve.

STEAMING INSTRUCTION: Begin by gently oiling a steamer tray. Alternatively, line the steamer tray with cabbage or lettuce leaves. Then place the frozen Gyozas on the lightly oiled or lined tray, before steaming above boiling water for roughly 8-10 minutes. Once steamed, remove and serve.

Cook thoroughly to an internal temperature of 165º F (74º C).

THAWING & PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS

Keep frozen till ready to use.
THAW OVERNIGHT: Place the bag on a leak-proof dish and thaw in the refrigerator overnight. Remove clam meat from the package and drain well before use.

QUICK THAW: Run under cold water.

TO COOK: Cook XXXXXXX for 3-5 min or until XXXXXX are fully cooked.

XXXXXX are fully cooked when the centre is solid white and a minimum internal temperature of 74 °C (165 °F) is reached.

Cooking times may vary depending on the appliance used.

STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS: Keep frozen at -18°C or colder. Do not refreeze after thawing. Keep refrigerated once thawed until ready to cook. Use within 24 hours.

COOKED - READY IN MINUTES

PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS

PREPARE FROM FROZEN: Do not refreeze muscles once thawed.

STEAM AND BOIL IN POT: Bring 2 cups of water (add wine or beer for more flavour) to a rapid boil on high heat. Remove frozen muscles from package and boil on high heat for 4 minutes, discard any muscles that do not open. Thinly sliced vegetables including onion, celery, and pepper and/or butter and garlic can be added at the beginning of the process for extra flavour. Bon appétite. Enjoy.
